7 October 2011:  RBST Show at the York Auction Centre (before the Sale)

For a remarkable third year in a row a Llanwenog was judged Interbreed Champion at this show (it is getting embarrassing!). This year it was a yearling ewe bred by Philip Hodges (Charndon flock). The Llanwenogs were entered in the ‘Down Breeds’ Section this year competing with Southdowns and White Faced Woodlands. The three Llanwenog yearling ewes claimed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the ewe class and the section Championship before going on to win the interbreed line up against a Jacob (Hill & Heath), Greyfaced Dartmoor (Longwool) and a Hebridean (Primative).

30 Sept 2011: RBST Show at Rugby Market, Stoneleigh (before the Sale)

Llanwenogs from the Charndon flock were entered in the ‘Hill & Heath’ section and were judged 1st for a Yearling Ewe, 1st for Yearling Ram and 2nd for a Ram Lamb. The Yearling Ram was then judged Champion for Hill & Heath Section and then Reserve Best in Show.

The Llanwenog Shearling Ram was 1st (class of 12 entries), the Ram Lamb was 4th (of 12), Ewe was 4th (of 17) and Ewe lamb was 3rd (of 19).

On Sunday, the LLanwenog was eligible for the ‘Hill and Heath’ section again classes were well attended with strong competition.

The Llanwenog results were: Shearling Ram 5th (class of 12), Ram lamb 3rd (of 12), Ewe 4th (in a huge class of 23!), Ewe lamb 2nd (of 16) and finally in the Groups the Llanwenog was judged 5th out of 17 traditional breeds (all of whom braved the pouring rain and were thoroughly soaked!)

10 Sept 2011 : Romsey Show

Margaret Brain (Whiteparish flock) judged at this show last year – however, this year she entered some Llanwenog young stock in the Hill, Mountain or Longwool classes and was awarded 1st and 3rd place with Ram Lambs and 2nd and 4th with Ewe lambs.
